Carlito V. Garcia started at McDonald's
14 years ago because he was impressed
with the solid organization and strong
leadership at the company. He has been
a restaurant manager for four years and
in that time won the Outstanding
Restaurant Manager award three times
and the Ray Kroc Award once. In 2007,
his Falls Church, VA restaurant, which is
owned and operated by Jim Van
Valkenburg, did $3.8 million in sales.
Garcia attributes much of his success to
the fact that he is open with his people
and tries to recognize their hidden
talents. "Don't be selfish with knowledge,"
he says. "Share the ideas and
knowledge you have gained with your
people. We can not underestimate
people's potential because everyone has
their own talents." In his free time,
Garcia enjoys spending time with his kids
by going to the playground with them
and cooking their meals.

With eighteen stores all over the D.C-Metro area, family-owned and operated Van Management, Inc. is all about community. Established in 1978, the Van Valkenburg family never stopped working to grow with their community.
