James Shatzoff Area Supervisor

My name is James Shatzoff; I am currently a supervisor for McDonald’s. I started my journey with McDonald’s at the age of 16. Over the past 27 years, I have left McDonald’s a time or two; however my passion for the business has brought me back for good. It took me several years to realize that this company had more to offer me than I thought. When I began at McDonald’s, I only wanted a paycheck. After many lessons and hard work I found a career. I went through many changes in McDonald’s and will continue to change as the business evolves. If someone asked me what I love most about my job, I would respond my managers, my crew and my customers. The people that work for me keep me coming back every day. My mission is to have well trained crew and managers delivering the highest quality food the friendliest way possible. I could not see me attempting this for another company. We are McDonald’s; we are proud and nothing can stop us from achieving our goal.

Peggy Jones Area Supervisor

I started my career path with McDonalds in 1984 as a crew person in Kingsport, Tn. I enjoyed the social aspect of my new job right away. I made new friends while making money…what an awesome arrangement for a teenager! I fell in love with the challenge McDonalds put forth every shift I worked. While in high school I became a crew trainer with the plan I would work until I graduated and off to college I would go. Well, with the added responsibility came an even deeper interest in going further in what I knew was a great company. Once I graduated high school I decided I wanted to “grow up” to be a store manager. I became a swing manager and in less than a year I was a second assistant. Within a year I was promoted to a first assistant. I spent the next year and a half learning every aspect of running a profitable restaurant. Once I proved I knew the business, I was promoted to store manager. In 1997 I moved to Virginia Beach and spent 3 years as an operations supervisor before moving back to TN. in 2000. In 2003 I decided it was time for me to follow my original dream of going to college to become a registered nurse. I left McDonalds and after graduating I choose to work with cancer then hospice patients. I learned a lot of life lessons while practicing nursing, and was glad I made the decision to go back to school. Even with my feelings of fulfillment, I missed my one true passion…McDonalds. So when the opportunity arose for me to go back into supervision, I was happy to take the position. I was a supervisor for 4 ½ years in TN. before moving back to Virginia Beach and taking the position of operations supervisor with Newlands in August 2012.
